Live from the stage/my workspace

Sara Moayed is a multidisciplinary artist-designer working with wood, textiles,

metal, ceramics, and light installations that investigate and overlap the intricate geometries of her Iranian heritage and Finnish craft.
“In Moayed’s work, traditional textile and mosaic art methods from Iranian culture become interwoven with Finnish design and play with the idea of a Gesamtkunstwerk. Moayed's works provoke reflection on questions of the multiplicity of cultural identities and the condensation of influences that underlie works of art. International, national or personal—these were also questions that preoccupied Gallen-Kallela when he designed his early art and crafts designs with their natural ornamental forms.”
